Paul Auster is one of the most famous, still living, authors of the United States. His books are translated into 30 different languages. Saturday, the 28th of April 2012, he presents his new book Winter Journal during City2Cities, a cultural literary festival in the city of Utrecht.
Paul Auster’s break-through came with The New York Trilogy in 1987. This work consists of three interlinked stories, which keep hunting the reader even after finishing the last page, and keeps on being mysterious. It is a breath-taking book that still touches and puzzles readers, even after more than 20 years. Paul Auster is always exploring the reciprocal effect of memory and identity, the main themes in most of his work. Nobody ever seems to appear who they really are.
Other books by Paul Auster are among others Moon Palace (1989), Leviathan (1992), Man in the Dark (2008), and Sunset Park (2010).
Winter Journal (Winterlogboek) is published in Dutch by De Arbeiderspers. Sebes & Van Gelderen proudly represent Paul Auster on behalf of his New York agent Carol Mann.
